Senior🎓
Top SchoolWouter Westenbrink is a Senior Backend Engineer and Architect based in Berlin with over 20 years of software experience and a dozen years focused in senior delivery and architecture roles. He has led large-scale migrations and platform builds—from bootstrapping services in monorepos and event-driven multi-tenant IoT platforms to implementing the European Digital Identity Wallet for the German federal government. Comfortable across Java, Golang and cloud-native stacks, he combines hands-on coding with system-level thinking to reduce complexity, improve observability, and cut operational costs. Known for driving better development practices (decision records, domain analysis, SLO/SLI work) he also coaches teams on agile, SRE and GitOps workflows. His background spans startups to large enterprises, with a consistent pattern of turning legacy systems into maintainable, production-grade services.
