Xiao Yu is a UX-focused researcher and designer with a decade of experience bridging psychology, human factors, and information science to improve human–computer interactions. Currently a PhD student and Graduate Research Assistant at NC State, Xiao has run large-scale behavioral studies (150+ participants), combined fMRI and VR (Unity 3D) paradigms, and iterated experimental designs based on data-driven insights. With a master’s in Information Studies from UT Austin and prior research training at Zhejiang University, they fluently move between lab methods, R-based analysis, and practical prototyping. Xiao’s background in consumer research and teaching complements their technical rigor, giving them a rare mix of academic depth and applied UX sensibility.
