Summary
🤩
RockstarYifeng Xu is a seasoned researcher and systems programmer with 11 years of professional experience and a long history as a FreeBSD source committer. Based in Hangzhou, he has driven low-level concurrency and kernel improvements—most notably implementing FreeBSD’s native 1:1 POSIX thread library and contributing POSIX signal queues, timers, and AIO kernel enhancements. At Alibaba since 2014 he applies deep OS and systems expertise to research problems, building reliable, production-grade infrastructure. Previously he led engineering teams at NetEase and VIA, spanning Windows and Linux development and technical leadership. A FreeBSD hacker fluent in C++ and Erlang, he pairs kernel-level craftsmanship with practical userland tooling and GDB support work. Colleagues know him for tackling subtle concurrency and debugging challenges that most application developers never see.
