Top SchoolYung-chung Ku is a Deputy Manager and cloud architecture/database administrator with nine years of focused experience in PostgreSQL, cloud databases, and distributed systems at Cathay Life Insurance. He combines academic depth—PhD-level computer science training—with practical research and engineering work spanning government systems, industrial projects, and distributed database R&D. An active community organizer and speaker, he has presented widely on PostgreSQL, FinOps, data governance, and streaming at major conferences in Taiwan and Japan and helps run the Taiwan PostgreSQL User Group. He’s skilled at turning PostgreSQL into APIs and log/ETL backends, and has led hybrid cloud migrations and data anonymization initiatives for enterprises. Colleagues know him for blending rigorous system design with pragmatic operational practices—and for coding with ice drip coffee when deep in the stack. Based in Taipei, he bridges research, education, and industry to drive open-source adoption and reliable data platforms.
