Top SchoolYunpeng Niu is a Senior Software Engineer and tech lead based in Singapore with 10 years of hands-on experience building resilient, high-throughput payment systems. He has driven architecture revamps and microservice splits at Grab—introducing event sourcing, dynamic acquirer routing, and automated failover—and now leads global payments platform initiatives at HoYoverse. Strong in backend engineering with Golang, MySQL, Redis, Kafka and AWS, he’s equally focused on operational excellence, SRE practices and improving engineering workflows like mono-repos and automated E2E testing. A proven mentor and tutor (NUS, teaching awards), he blends production-grade system design with clear teaching instincts, often surfacing practical trade-offs in complex distributed systems. Notably, his career shows a pattern of turning payment reliability problems into scalable platform features used across multiple countries.
