Top SchoolYuqi Zheng is a Senior Staff Software Engineer in San Francisco with nine years of experience building recommendation and search ranking systems and scalable backend services. She has led and grown teams at Airbnb and now drives recommendation/search algorithm development at Coupang, blending production ML, data engineering (Pig/Spark/Hive/Kafka), and Spring-based backend expertise. At Airbnb she built the China search/ranking stack from scratch and a multi-objective ranking system that improved conversion and revenue, and earlier work at Yahoo focused on lookalike targeting and real-time data pipelines. Comfortable both as an individual contributor and tech lead, she pairs hands-on algorithm design with pragmatic infra engineering to ship high-impact ML systems. A strong signal of her technical breadth is an early multimedia research internship where she implemented C++/OpenCV facial retrieval with LSH to achieve high recall, revealing an aptitude for applied research plus productionization.
