Senior🎓
Top SchoolZach Gavin is a Senior Software Engineer in Chicago with over a decade of experience building product-focused web applications using Node, React, TypeScript, and complementary back-end stacks like Rails and Elixir. He consistently owns full SDLC responsibilities—from requirements and API design to high-performance UI architecture and releases—while delivering enterprise-grade features such as messaging inbox rules and paginated audit tables. At Sprout Social he saved roughly 200 engineering hours by leading a Flow-to-TypeScript conversion via a bespoke CLI and drove adoption of analytics and observability tooling to improve product and support outcomes. He balances hands-on delivery with mentorship, onboarding early-career engineers and documenting best practices to scale team impact. Currently at ServiceNow, he’s exploring how AI productivity tools can accelerate engineering effectiveness and help teams focus on higher-value product work. Outside of work, his background in education and customer-facing product demos gives him a pragmatic, user-centered perspective that informs his engineering decisions.
