Zachary Clark-Williams is a Firmware BIOS Engineer with eight years of hands-on experience designing, debugging, and optimizing platform boot flows at Intel. He combines a strong academic foundation in electrical and computer engineering with practical mechatronics and electrical consulting experience, bringing a systems-level perspective to firmware development. Known for shipping reliable UEFI/BIOS features, he also builds tooling and automation—drawing on prior work creating Excel/VBA utilities and automated test rigs—to streamline validation and root-cause analysis. His background managing teams in high-paced service environments informs a pragmatic, process-oriented approach to cross-functional collaboration and schedule-driven delivery. Based in Beaverton, Oregon, he blends embedded firmware expertise with a rare mix of field verification and operational leadership.

This was developed in conjunction with an SRC Funded PSU vendor research and development project, developed by myself and a PSU professor, Dr. Hunt. This project was to create a robotic controller that could be used in many versatile situations where a robotic controller would be needed. This controller will be able to be parameterized to utilize many different types of A.I. programs, but will be initially developed to load a biological neuron model and perform balance and other robotic research work. This device will have 100 – 200+ GPIO ports, connections for computer cameras for computer vision, and serial ports for other uses. The processing will be researched to find the best SoC device combination of CPU/GPU/FPGA/etc. which will be running parallel program algorithms to run at a real-time speed. More will be added as the scope is grown and changed throughout the project.
