Top SchoolZhen Zhang is a Cambridge-based leader with 13+ years driving antibody discovery and immuno-oncology programs, now heading Antibody Discovery and Engineering at Moderna. He combines deep hands-on expertise in B-cell sorting, yeast display, structure-based design and antibody humanization with practical experience developing bispecific antibodies and CAR-T/NK cell platforms. His career bridges rigorous structural biology—having solved multiple crystal structures—with translational preclinical work including CRO management, in vitro/in vivo efficacy and toxicity studies. A PhD-trained bioinformatician/biochemist, he is equally fluent in protein engineering, enzyme kinetics and protein–protein interaction analysis, enabling rapid iteration from design to candidate selection. Colleagues rely on him for building cross-functional discovery platforms and for turning complex structural insights into therapeutic leads.
