Zhendong Sha is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Cleveland Clinic with a decade of experience at the intersection of machine learning and genomics. He earned his Ph.D. from Queen’s University studying ML methods for genome-wide association studies, with deep expertise in gene–gene interactions and genetic heterogeneity. His current work applies network medicine, multi-omics integration, and real-world evidence to accelerate Alzheimer's drug discovery and to build biomedical AI agents for drug combination prediction. Zhendong also develops graph foundation models to represent complex biological interactions at scale, blending rigorous academic training with applied translational goals. Outside the lab he has taught algorithms and computational courses across multiple universities, reflecting a strong commitment to mentoring and reproducible research.
