SeniorZiyue Zhou is a software engineer with over a decade of engineering experience and more than five years leading projects that span generative AI, distributed databases, and cloud-native systems. Currently at Google, she enhances Spanner’s search, indexing, and vector search for LLMs underpinning services used by billions, and previously protected global payments and built high-throughput e-wallet infrastructure at ByteDance. She has a track record of launching highly available distributed services, reducing latency and errors through async architectures, ORM adoption, and automated inconsistency detection that saved engineering time. Comfortable bridging research and production (as her lab quip suggests), Ziyue combines rigorous CS training from Columbia and William & Mary with hands-on optimizations across database storage, RPC, and microservice design. She’s driven by practical innovation—delivering measurable efficiency, scalability, and security improvements across large-scale consumer and enterprise systems.
